Science Fair Information

38th Annual Science Fair

March 6-7th at the OJHS Gym

Your child has the exciting opportunity to participate in the 38th Annual Oakdale District Science Fair!

Student(s) will be expected to complete these projects in addition to their normal classroom activities, and their classroom teacher may provide limited support.

To enter, your child must complete the Science Fair Application included in the 2024 Science Fair Info Packet (Spanish version).

The deadline to return the Science Fair Application is Friday, February 9, 2024. Return to your classroom teacher.

The Info Packet includes Science Fair Upcoming Deadlines, General Instructions and Requirements, 8 Steps to a Great Science Fair Experiment, and Events Schedule and Application.

Classroom teachers may offer limited assistance to participating individuals or groups, however, the bulk of the project is expected to be completed by the student(s). The Oakdale Joint Unified School District and area businesses will recognize student efforts and achievements in science at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 13th, at Magnolia Auditorium from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Student Scientist Evening: Please join us on Thursday, March 7th from 6:00-7:00 pm at the OJHS Gym, to hear Oakdale students share their science projects. Students who have projects displayed will be asked to “host” their project to give visitors a firsthand account of their experimentation. Student scientist participants will be entered in a science drawing for special science prizes!

Live Animal Research: Students observing or testing live animals must complete OJUSD Live Animal Research Plan (Spanish version). More details can be found in General Instructions and Requirements.

Happy Experimenting!
