Welcome to Pupil Services

The Pupil Services Department focuses on direction, coordination, guidance, and assessment of all programs in the area of student services, including but not limited to those concerning Special Education, Child Welfare and Attendance, and Health Services.

Related services include Wellness and Nutrition, Home/Hospital instruction, Homeless and Foster Care registration, Student Records, Discipline and School Safety, and Staff Development in related areas. Pupil Services also serves as a liaison with local and state agencies in related areas and serves as the District's 504 Coordinator.

Statement of Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of the Oakdale Joint Unified School District that no otherwise qualified student with a disability, as defined by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADA) will be denied, solely by reason of his/her disability, the benefits of, excluded from participation in, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity offered to students of the District. Oakdale Joint Unified School District does not discriminate against otherwise qualified students on the basis of disability with regard to admission, access to educational services/programming, or employment in its programs and activities.

It is the intent of the District to ensure that students who are handicapped within the definition of Section 504 are identified, evaluated, and, if qualified, provided with appropriate accommodations and the provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to students and qualified adults with disabilities who may not be covered by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).

Due process rights of handicapped students and their parents under Section 504 will be enforced and a grievance procedure has been adopted that incorporates appropriate due process standards that provide opportunity for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by Section 504.

The Oakdale Joint Unified School District will investigate in accordance with the District’s Uniform Complaint Procedures any complaints alleging discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying in district programs and activities based on actual or perceived characteristics of race or ethnicity, color, ancestry, nationality, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, gender, gender identify, sexual orientation, or another protected class or characteristic identified in the law. A more complete statement of the District’s policy and Uniform Complaint Procedure can be found in the District’s Board Policy 1312.3. If dissatisfied with the District’s decision following its investigation using the Uniform Complaint Procedures, the complainant may appeal in writing to the California Department of Education in accordance with Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 4632 and the California Education Code Section 49013 (Administrative Regulation 1312.3).
