Measure G
The Oakdale Joint Unified School District operates nine schools and operational facilities which include Transportation, Maintenance, and Nutritional Services (Central Kitchen) to provide a comprehensive educational program and specialized services for over 5000 students. Many of these facilities have reached an age beyond routine repair. Infrastructure systems built in the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's have, in many cases, surpassed their operational lifespan. As important are classrooms that cannot meet the needs of 21st century technology and teaching methodologies. Today's students need to participate in class completely differently than they did 30-50 years ago. Modernization of classrooms, labs, shops, etc. is desperately needed to facilitate instructional methodologies that will make our students college and career ready. This fact prompted the OJUSD School Board to conduct a full Facility Needs Assessment, and have a Facility Master Plan developed. OJUSD has invested heavily in our facilities to keep up with repairs, however the cost of continuing this repair and replacement process has reached critical mass. The scale of needs will far exceed the district's fiscal ability to keep systems adequately operating in the near future.
As a result, the district's Board of Trustees passed a Resolution to have a General Obligation Bond (Measure G) placed on the November 5, 2024 Presidential Election ballot. Please explore the links below to learn more about the District's facility needs, Facility Master Plan, and Measure G.
